It's pretty cool, isn't it? Great clear movie-still images or movie snapshots used to fascinate me to near-drooling stage! (tulo laway in amazement)- But now... I can fill my heart's delight to any "movie-scene" snapshot that I can even use as Desktop Background or Presentation attention grabbers. I was actually like a giddy kid discovering a jar full of gummy bears when I learned to do this. - (ang babaw 'no?).
Anyway, this is possible with a free software called VLC.
VLC is a very versatile media player that you may download for free. More specifically, VideoLan Wiki describes it as "a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG, DivX/Xvid, Ogg, and manymore) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. However in recent years it has also become an extremely powerful server to stream live and on demand video in several formats to our network and the Internet. It started as a student project at the French Ecole Centrale, Paris but is now a worldwide project with developers from 20 countries."
Yes, you'll first fall in love with VLC for its capability to play videos of any format. It's also a lot faster with good picture display than any other media player I've tried.

The snapshots are actually useful for making eye-catching and attention grabbing presentations or teasers. Trainers, speakers, virtual assistants, those who sells online, and bloggers like me will benefit from various features of VLC. We all know that attention span of an audience easily wanders without a great visual. So this is another tool you may use. Students will definitely "wow!" their teachers if they insert a snapshot or two in their projects to emphasize or demonstrate a point. Those who travel a lot uses Skype. Why? Because it's a cool thing! It allows you to call people anywhere in the world for FREE. We all know how expensive long distance and overseas calls are. Even cellphone texts can be heavy on the pocket when you're abroad.
We can chat with internet, also for free -but nothing beats communication aided with sound and vision. Skype allows this sort of virtual meeting through the internet for free. You just have to install Skype to your PC, laptop, cellphone, or ipad and get your Skype Name. You call your friends, family, and contact through their Skype Name as well.

Calls to other users within the Skype service are free, while calls to both traditional landline telephones and mobile phones can be made for a fee using a debit-based user account system. Skype keeps you connected with friends and family in an economical and cool way. It is also becoming an effective way of remotely managing business, communicating and doing conferences at work. And here in the Philippines, it kind of make you "Techie" when you invite friends and colleagues to Skype.

Let’s face it. We are in the age of information explosion. We deal with and handle information every day. Lots of it! Though we don’t have it anymore in stacks of folders and binders, we still do bring them around digitally in our gadgets. Some even feel ineffective without it.
