VLC Snapshot Tutorial - Capture Your Sharp Clear "Movie-Scene" Snapshots with VLC

Have you ever wondered about those eye-catching "movie-scene" snaphots? Like these ones below:
The above 5 frames are my Snapshots from The Chronicles of Narnia via VLC
It's pretty cool, isn't it? Great clear movie-still images or movie snapshots used to fascinate me to near-drooling stage! (tulo laway in amazement)- But now... I can fill my heart's delight to any "movie-scene" snapshot that I can even use as Desktop Background or Presentation attention grabbers. I was actually like a giddy kid discovering a jar full of gummy bears when I learned to do this. - (ang babaw 'no?).
Anyway, this is possible with a free software called VLC.

VLC is a very versatile media player that you may download for free. More specifically, VideoLan Wiki describes it as "a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG, DivX/Xvid, Ogg, and manymore) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. However in recent years it has also become an extremely powerful server to stream live and on demand video in several formats to our network and the Internet. It started as a student project at the French Ecole Centrale, Paris but is now a worldwide project with developers from 20 countries."
Yes, you'll first fall in love with VLC for its capability to play videos of any format. It's also a lot faster with good picture display than any other media player I've tried.
So first thing's first - you have to download your VLC media player. Here's the tutorial to download your FREE VLC:

Skype Free Call

Yesterday, my boss told me he has some business to attend to abroad. He'll be in Canada for a month. So he said, "We can always talk through Skype." And I simply nodded.
He looked at me suspiciously, "Do you know Skype?" he asked.
"I've heard about it -but I don't have one yet."
     "Well, get your Skype. Okay?"

Obviously, we need to Skype eventually. Even Manny Pacquiao uses Skype. We've all seen his Pacquiao-Mosley post-fight interviews on the night news via Skype video call.
Those who travel a lot uses Skype. Why? Because it's a cool thing! It allows you to call people anywhere in the world for FREE. We all know how expensive long distance and overseas calls are. Even cellphone texts can be heavy on the pocket when you're abroad.
We can chat with internet, also for free -but nothing beats communication aided with sound and vision. Skype allows this sort of virtual meeting through the internet for free. You just have to install Skype to your PC, laptop, cellphone, or ipad and get your Skype Name. You call your friends, family, and contact through their Skype Name as well.

According to Wikipedia: Skype is a software application that allows users to make voice calls and chats over the Internet. Calls to other users within the Skype service are free, while calls to both traditional landline telephones and mobile phones can be made for a fee using a debit-based user account system. Skype has also become popular for its additional features which include instant messaging, file transfer, and video conferencing. Skype has 663 million registered users as of 2010. On May 10, 2011, it was reported that Microsoft had completed an agreement to acquire Skype for $8.5 billion.

Skype keeps you connected with friends and family in an economical and cool way. It is also becoming an effective way of remotely managing business, communicating and doing conferences at work. And here in the Philippines, it kind of make you "Techie" when you invite friends and colleagues to Skype.

Do you bring these with you 80% of the time?
Let’s face it. We are in the age of information explosion. We deal with and handle information every day. Lots of it! These are information in form of news, contracts research, statistics, charts, design plans, photos, presentations, correspondence, reports, and many more. Though we don’t have it anymore in stacks of folders and binders, we still do bring them around digitally in our gadgets. Some even feel ineffective without it.

Just like Jaycee. He’s a nutrition supplement salesman –a top salesman. Last week at 8:00 A.M. in a gas station along SLEX (South Luzon Expressway)…
Jaycee was six strides back to his parking zone when the sight of his car stunned him.
“Oh no!” and he can’t help but cursed. Hot cup of Starbuck’s coffee slipped from his fingers –splashed his shiny shoes as it kissed the pavement.
Both driver and passenger windows of his car are broken.
He rushed to it and immediately opened the door. “Damned! My laptop is gone!”
And so were his bags. All his sales presentations and precious files gone!
     He instantly felt handicapped.

These incidents are very rampant. And for most people with similar incident, the real lost is not the hardware or their gadgets. They usually cringed more deeply from the lost of their documents.
There is another way (maybe a better way) of storing your documents and easily accessing it anytime, anywhere, –as long as you have internet connection.
     This is the Dropbox.
What is Dropbox? Here’s the simplest explanation from Dropbox themselves; just click this link Dropbox Explained
And here's my free tutorial of Dropbox.

Actually, a friend introduced me to Dropbox a year ago and it really simplified things. Go and share this with your friends too. I’m sure they’ll appreciate it.
